I am taking a sabbatical this summer from teaching to focus on a new commission. I look forward to my classes in the fall-either online or in the studio! Thank you to all the folks who joined me in my Zoom classes in quarantine.
In the fall I’ll be teaching “Fundamentals of Drawing” at the Art Students League, “Perspective Drawing” at the 92nd Street Y, and a new class “Interiors: Still Life, Perspective and the Figure in Charcoal and Pastel” at the New York School of the Arts.
To keep up-to-date about dates, times, online/studio status of these classes and for registration info, sign up for my Mailing List and I’ll send out an email with all the info when I have it.
I look forward to seeing everyone in the fall!

Join me on a live interactive Zoom tour of my studio in Erector Square in New Haven. Get a sneak peek at a new group of paintings I am working on and see the paintings in different stages from initial sketch to completion. I will discuss my artistic goals with this new body of work and my conceptual and technical struggles. Learn about the process and tools I use to put together a painting of a big group of figures using only my imagination and a couple models—including structural drawing, photography and maquettes.
Offered through Creative Arts Workshop
I was recently interviewed in the Art Student League’s LINEA magazine! “Exploring the mind and habits of an artist in twenty-five questions”. Read the full interview here!
